Konsulate \u00fcbernehmen in der Regel Aufgaben im Zusammenhang mit dem Zivilstand. Sie k\u00f6nnen Urkunden f\u00fcr alle Zivilstandsereignisse (<strong>Geburt<\/strong>, <strong>Heirat<\/strong>, <strong>Anerkennung<\/strong>, <strong>Tod<\/strong>) ausstellen und Ausweisdokumente (<strong>Pass<\/strong>) zustellen lassen. Diese Dokumente k\u00f6nnen allerdings nur im Rahmen der im Recht des Gastlandes vorgesehenen Einschr\u00e4nkungen und Bedingungen ausgestellt werden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ein im Ausland lebender B\u00fcrger kann die Botschaft seines Landes ferner um Schutz ersuchen, wenn seine Sicherheit seiner Meinung nach ausserhalb nicht gew\u00e4hrleistet ist (Asylrecht).\u00a0In einigen F\u00e4llen wird dieses Recht kraft der diplomatischen Immunit\u00e4t auch auf die Staatsb\u00fcrger anderer L\u00e4nder erweitert.\u00a0Diese Massnahme ist allerdings umstritten, und die Beh\u00f6rden k\u00f6nnen die Ausweisung des Fl\u00fcchtlings verlangen.\u00a0In Schwierigkeiten geratene B\u00fcrger, die im Ausland beispielsweise Geld oder Ausweisdokumente verloren haben, k\u00f6nnen die Botschaft ebenfalls um Hilfe bitten.
